Enrolling new VPK Students for 08/2024 entry
VPK program
(4-5 Years old)
Preschoolers
Most children of this age begin to develop greater independence, self-control, and creativity. They are content to play with their toys for longer periods of time, are eager to try new things, and when they get frustrated, are better able to express their emotions. During this time, children’s ability to think and learn goes beyond the basics of the world around them. They start thinking about and understanding things they can’t see or touch. Language development tends to explode during this year.
Our core focus for preschoolers is to develop the interest in STEAM education:
- Science
- Technology
- Engineering
- Arts
- Mathematics
VPK
Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program (VPK) is a free educational program that prepares 4-year-olds for kindergarten and beyond. VPK gives children a jump start by preparing them for school and enhancing their pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills.
The VPK program is FREE for eligible children, regardless of family income.
Children who participate in high-quality early childhood education programs develop better language skills, score higher in school-readiness tests and have better social skills. Crest Peak Learning Center has a free Voluntary Prekindergarten program offered by the State of Florida for all children four years and older on or before September 1st. Our teachers are trained and certified to prepare your child for their kindergarten year, especially in the areas of pre-reading, pre-math and social skills.
Who is eligible for VPK?
To be eligible for VPK, children must live in Florida and be 4 years old on or before September 1 of the current school year.
How Can Your Child Benefit From VPK?
Your child will get the most important growth and development in the brain happens by the age of five.
VPK prepares children to be ready for school. Your child will develop better language skills, score higher in school-readiness tests, and have better social skills and fewer behavioral problems once they enter school. They are also better prepared for kindergarten, especially in the areas of pre-reading, pre-math, and social skills.

INFANT CARE
(6 week - 12 months)
Crest Peak Learning Center provides care for children from Six Weeks - 12 Months. Some of the most important learning takes place during the first year of a child’s life. Consistent, supportive, and responsive care helps establish a good self-concept and a solid base for exploration and learning.
As you entrust your infant into our care our goal is to establish the caring, supportive, responsive relationships that your baby needs for their cognitive, social, and physical development. Our infant room teachers will work with you to individualize care by understanding your child’s sleeping and feeding schedules as well as preferences.
Our care is focused on building your child’s sense of security, safety, and comfort. Fine motor, gross motor, and social skills are learned in an atmosphere filled with love and respect.
Children in the infant room are exposed to rich language experiences, music, and beginning sensory experiences.
Enough opportunities to explore the environment are offered.
1-Year-old CARE
(12 - 24 months)
After infants start crawling, standing, and walking, their increased physical mobility leads to increased cognitive development. Near the end of the sensorimotor stage (18-24 months), infants reach another important milestone - early language development.
Our play-based program engages your young toddler to learn through hands-on activities like crawling up to a sensory board with different textures, objects, and fabrics.
2-Year-old CARE
(24-36 Months)
Physical movement is key to two-year old’s development. Our curriculum is built around their need to run, jump, climb, and explore as well as support their growing independence, social skills, and confidence.
Their learning experiences include sensory activities such as playing with dough, creating music with musical instruments and building large muscle skills by pushing toys. As this is a significant year for language development, toddlers will be developing language with books, puppets, and singing, as well as encouraging imagination through pretend play.
3-Year-old CARE
(36 - 48 months)
Three-year-old children start learning new things about the world. They often think of creative approaches to tasks and activities. During this year children are working to get better at the gross and fine motor skills they developed as 2-year-olds. Plus, they typically have a lot to say and understand more of what you say.
The learning experience will involve all five senses include nature going out in nature when learning about plants and animals. Let the children explore the outdoors and collect leaves, nuts, twigs, pine cones, or anything else safe and natural. Invite a fireman to come into the classroom to speak about their job, who in turn may have the children climb around on a fire truck, have them listen to the siren, and let them ask questions. Teachers begin introducing the letters of the alphabet, count to 5 or more, and recognize the written numerals "0" through "9".
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL care
(6-10 Years old)
Ease of Transportation
We understand that getting before and after school care can be a challenge for many parents who work full-time. We offer private transportation to and from many of the nearby schools to make life easier for you and your child. We pick up from the following schools:
- Crown Point Elementary
- Mandarin Oaks Elementary
Outdoor Play and Adventures
Your child will be able to enjoy daily fun-filled indoor activities and play outdoors in a designated outdoor play environment with safe play equipment.
Homework Assistance
Homework can be a difficult task for the child who lacks attentive support from their teachers. That’s why our before and after school care teachers with bachelor's degree give focused time to each student to help them complete challenging writing prompts and math problems, among other assignments.

FOR MILITARY FAMILIES
We are proud to be an approved provider with Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) and Child Care Aware. These programs are for eligible families who cannot access military-operated child care due to distance or waitlists.
With fee assistance, a portion of your child care costs is paid to offset the costs of community-based care. This makes it easier for families to afford quality child care from local community providers.
