Children Four and Five Years of Age
Most children this age begin to develop greater independence, self-control, and creativity. They are content to play with their toys for longer periods of time, are eager to try new things, and when they get frustrated, are better able to express their emotions. During this time, children’s ability to think and learn goes beyond the basics of the world around them. They start thinking about and understanding things they can’t see or touch. Language development tends to explode during this year.
